Human Cloud Project is an artwork that introduces a series of experimental instruments for co-existing with air. The artwork on display in Ii invites the audience to blow out a cloud of their own breathing air, a Cumulus Homomutatus. The piece evokes thoughts on how the mere existence of our physical bodies makes us a part of air, the biosphere and the planet.

Filips Stanislavskis is a Riga-Berlin based artist and designer whose practice orbits around observation, speculation and care. His projects can be thought of as tools for critical self-reflection that are designed to revise one’s attitude. Lately, he has been exploring breath through artistic, analytical and experiential lenses and its possibility to be a potential entryway into ecologically attuned awareness.

’’The atmosphere is a collective project.”

As part of the artwork, a human-cloud performance was carried out outside of KulttuuriKauppila. The human breathed air was transported into the sky with a balloon and then released to the atmosphere to create a small cloud, barely visible to the eye.
