Artists of the Art Ii Biennial 2024
This year's theme is fire, and the art works explore various aspects of its nature, its destructive power, and its ability to create something new.
In co-operation with the Oulu2026 –organisation the Art Ii Biennial will present an afternoon of art and art/science discussions in Ii, Thursday 16th June. The event will highlight the art and science collaborations of the Biennial.
A total of thirteen projects were selected to be part of the Art Ii Biennial 2022 through the open call.
The 8th Art Ii Biennial invited artists to explore how can the interconnected immateriality of air be communicated using the methods of art. How can we ‘look’ at air, and what will we see when we turn our attention to it?

The artists of Art Ii Biennial are selected through open call and invitations from the curatorial team. The 2022 Biennial is co-curated by Minna Rainio, Mark Roberts and Jetta Huttunen.
The eighth Art Ii Biennial will be held in Ii, Northern Finland, 15 – 19 June 2022!
